For my first post, I suppose I ought to tell you a little bit about me. I live 20 miles north of Terre Haute. I’ve been married for almost 17 years and we have two beautiful children. I’m sure you’ll be seeing them often. I have a creative nature and in the past have done a number of different hobbies; however, photography seems the most satisfying.
Photography, I believe, is just another form of art. Every artist is different as is every masterpiece. My true purpose in photography is to capture the essence of the life that God has given us. Everywhere you look you can see where God’s hand has touched something. In the autumn, you can see God’s version of fireworks exploding in the trees. Purity of the snow in the winter. The fresh blooms of new life in the flowers in spring. The warmth of the sun in summer. God’s fingerprints are everywhere, in nature and on people. We are blessed to be surrounded by all of this, we just have to open our eyes and appreciate the gift that God has bestowed on us. I do this to Glorify God and my desire is that others will see God in what I do.
I had the privledge to do a custom photo shoot for a wonderful woman and designer. You can view her website and the photos I took here: http://purbrella.com/shop_flirty.html . You do have to wait a moment to view my cupcake photos. You can view all the photos I took for that shoot here: http://JulieLawsonPhotography.smugmug.com/gallery/3998549_ZEVch/1/232731016_iomgK and here: http://JulieLawsonPhotography.smugmug.com/gallery/4042812_JfdR2/1/235666730_XRJru. As I said earlier, I am willing to do custom photo shoots for advertising purposes; however, I really enjoy photographing people and nature.
I think I’ll end my first post with some photos I took on the way home from Indianapolis. I just thought the sun and the sky was beautiful that evening.

Oh! I loved reading your first blog post and I’m so excited that you’re going to do one! I look forward to reading it as often as you write. There’s something about having one for me that really took off somehow. I guess I really like being able to capture my thoughts on why I took something or how it made me feel. I also love the fact that this is like a journal of all of the great things that have progressed in my photography journey. If only I had started my blog in Jaunary of 2007…I could have logged the entire progression from when I really started this passion full force. Well, at least I started it when I did and I’m happy to have it. I enjoy looking back on it to see where I’ve been and how far I’ve come. I look forward to seeing you post your thoughts and your favorite recent works and all the good things that are going to happy for you with your photography!
