{Easton|”BIRTHday”}Clinton Indiana Newborn Photographer

I’ve done a few hospital newborn shots for my Tiny Blessing families! I completely and totally love it! Last night however was the first time I went just hours after the baby was born. The entire family was there waiting to get their eyes and hands on that little guy. :)

Jessica’s labor started around 11 p.m Monday night and she went in to the hospital at around 1 a.m. The family waited anxiously all day for Easton to arrive, but we all know how babies are. :) We got the last update that Jess was at 10cm so I knew that at any minute I would get the call to come…..and I waited….and waited. ha! After about 2 1/2 hours of pushing they made the decision to do a C-section. Well no wonder! Easton is a big boy!! He was born 9 lb 6 oz and 21 1/2 inches long. He has the most biggest hands I have seen on a newborn. I hope my little hats fit him. lol He is definitely going to play football.

I’ll be meeting up with the new family on Saturday, so until then, here is a slideshow of my visit.

{Newborn Session|Aviv}Indianapolis Indiana Newborn Photographer

This session took place in Indianapolis. It is also the last session in which Jen from Jen Rinaldi Photography came with me before flying back to Virginia.

This is such a wonderful family. As I shot, I learned that they had tried a couple of times to book sessions, but it hadn’t seemed to work out. I am so glad that if finally came together for us. Terez and Eldad are such lovely people!

Jen was with me to lend a hand and give some tips that she’s learned from other newborn photogs. Here are a lot of my favorites from the session!

{Maternity} “M” Family

This is my good friend Darla and her family. Tomorrow is birth day for this family…or it will be if “K” cooperates. I just hope that he waits for my session to be done tomorrow night before he makes his big arrival. You see, Darla is letting me document the birth of their son and I so want to be there for his first breath. I can’t think of a better gift than to capture the minutes and moments of labor and delivery.

We took these images in 15 minutes. Indiana had experienced some really high temps. Not as hot as Texas or for as long as Texas…but still, it was hot. On this day it was 115 heat index, definitely not the atmosphere for a pregnant momma. Here are the images that we took.

Come back to check out birth day pics later. (If Darla lets me post some of those. lol )

{6 month session} “I”/Effingham, Ill Baby Photographer

We are half way into little “I”s first year of photos. It always amazes me how much the change from month to month. At his newborn session, he was small…really skinny. Really nothing much to his little self. Now, at 6 month he is chubby and full of smiles! Here are some of the favorites from our session.

9 Month Session~K~/Terre Haute Indiana Infant and Children Photographer

It’s so hard to believe that this is “K”s next to last session. :( It is always such a pleasure to meet up with great people and wonderful children to take their photos. This always puts a smile on my face.

“K” was awesome on this day despite not feeling too well. When we wrapped up, she had a little fever…but she was a champ! Look at these pics and see if you can tell…I can’t! We got magic on this day. I wanted to get a little more of  a natural look to some of the images as well as some studio shots, so I told Holly that I would use her play area for part of it. They have this amazing sun porch off their T.V. room…I didn’t have to use my studio lights at all. <3

I should also make a little note, parents shouldn’t worry if their baby is a little/ or a lot fussy…I’ve told some that you will be surprised at what I can capture for ya. ;)

Please enjoy my multitude of favorites!

3 Months “C”/Terre Haute Indiana Infant Photographer

“C” is one of my Tiny Blessing babies. I meet up with the babies and their families for their Newborn, 3, 6, 9 month and 1 year. For each stage in their life, I try to come up with new and unique set-ups with the families. This way their session is a little unique and a little different from session to session.

This time I asked Ashley is I could set up in their large screened in back porch. It has huge windows all the way around it and it provided such wonderful light. Towards the end of the session I did have to bring out one light to give us just a bit more light.

I am really excited about these pictures. We got some really great shots and “C” even fell asleep during part of the session. I don’t remember ever having that happen…but she got really cozy and just went to sleep. It worked out great!

Enjoy my favorites!

Maternity & Newborn Session/Indianapolis Maternity and Newborn Photographer

This is two posts in one! Some may remember the “C” family from the last couple of years. “X” is my first ever Tiny Blessings baby. Well, the family welcomed “T” on February 9.

I met with them 2 weeks prior to capture “A” and “X” before the little ones big arrival and to do some maternity photos of Christine. She looked positively radiant during her maternity session….but she looked spectacular the day of the newborn session.

“T” was 2 days old when I went to their home, so that makes him the youngest baby I’ve photographed in a studio setting. I chose to set up the backdrops in front of their big sliding glass doors. I really love natural light, so when it’s available…I leave the studio lights and softboxes in the car. :)

I found this link from previous sessions. Love looking back. :)

“C”~Newborn Session/Terre Haute Indiana Newborn Photographer

Meet the squishiest, sleepiest little baby I’ve photographed. He has rolls and was just so easy to move around. He was literally a limp noodle in my hands. :)

While I was taking the maternity session, we had talked about me being in the delivery room taking pictures of “C”s birth. Well, Kim didn’t deliver until around 2 in the morning…so needless to say, I wasn’t able to be there. However, before work a day or so after his birth, I went to the hospital to capture his cuteness. I love how they came out.

Day 4: I met at their house to get some more studio style shots. :) Enjoy some of my favorites!!

9 Month Session~”T”/Cayuga and Clinton Indiana Photographer

What a difference a couple of months make! Little “T” has changed so much in just a couple of months. What a little cutie!

I love going to their house, there is SO much family history in every area of their home. I used a couple of items that date back to WWI. David has a flag that his great-grandmother made to hang in the window of their home. Go to this link for a description of the flags: http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/us%5Esvc.html#svc

David also has his great grandfathers uniform and that is what “T” is wearing in one of his pictures.

I love the design that Eliza drew on the wall.

“N” Family~Maternity Session/Terre Haute Indiana Maternity Photographer

This was supposed to be my last session of 2010, but Kim’s friend delivered her son a little early. That session will be blogged next.

Kim hired me several months ago for the year-long “Tiny Blessing” Sessions. I love meeting new families and getting to spend that first year with them watching their families grow.

All of my families are so great to work with and Kim and Jason are no exception. They are fun to be around, have a great sense of humor and very relaxed in front of the camera. Kim was down for anything…just a lot of fun. Fingers crossed that her delivery and my schedule work out that I will be able to be in the delivery room with her and Jason documenting the birth of their second child. I couldn’t think of any better gift than to be there when new life arrives. <3

I love the necklaces that Kim chose for her outfits. I really think accessories can make or break the outfit.

Here are some of my favorites from their session.

I love using textures with my images. I don’t know why I do, I just know that I love the feel of the picture when I’m finished.
