Here we are in Keelyn’s 7th month photos. This time the theme is Easter! I think this boy could make dirt look cute, don’t you? His smile is infectious. I simply adore this boy.

{Easton|”BIRTHday”}Clinton Indiana Newborn Photographer

I’ve done a few hospital newborn shots for my Tiny Blessing families! I completely and totally love it! Last night however was the first time I went just hours after the baby was born. The entire family was there waiting to get their eyes and hands on that little guy.

Jessica’s labor started around 11 p.m Monday night and she went in to the hospital at around 1 a.m. The family waited anxiously all day for Easton to arrive, but we all know how babies are. We got the last update that Jess was at 10cm so I knew that at any minute I would get the call to come…..and I waited….and waited. ha! After about 2 1/2 hours of pushing they made the decision to do a C-section. Well no wonder! Easton is a big boy!! He was born 9 lb 6 oz and 21 1/2 inches long. He has the most biggest hands I have seen on a newborn. I hope my little hats fit him. lol He is definitely going to play football.

I’ll be meeting up with the new family on Saturday, so until then, here is a slideshow of my visit.

{Josh|High School Senior Session}Clinton Indiana High School Senior Photographer

Josh is a Senior at S.V. H. S. in Clinton. He is graduating next month!

I met Josh when I photographed his sister’s wedding this past October. He has such a wonderful family! The whole family, along with Josh’s girlfriend met up Jen and I at Fairbanks Park. The weather has been so beautiful for sessions and this day was no different.

{Amanda|High School Senior Session} Clinton Indiana High School Senior Photographer

Meet Amanda!! She is a 2012 Senior at S.V. in Clinton. I met her when she was a Sophomore while her and my daughter were in choir together. Amanda is so sweet and pretty. She also has this amazingly cute little girl!

I shot this session with my good friend Jen Stow from Virginia (http://blog.jenrinaldiphotography.com/ ). Jen was visiting so we tag teamed for a few sessions while she was here. I always enjoy her visits and working with her on sessions. I won’t post her photos, but when she gets hers up, I’ll update this to include the link.

We met in Clinton for her session. Most people miss the great opportunities that their little cities give. You may have lived there all your life and think, “there isn’t anything cool in ___________”, but if you look close enough you’ll find great places for pictures. I’m still discovering little places in my town.

{Brandon~2012 Senior/Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics and Humanities}Terre Haute,Indiana High School Senior Photographer

I met Brandon’s mom while she was attending a wedding I was photographing. I’m not total strangers to this family though. I’ve photographed some of her family members for almost 2 years.

Brandon chose to have studio pictures done vs going outside. This was a very good decision as it was misting heavily and very windy. Not a good day for outside pictures. His sister got in on a few pictures. Their mom showed me the last picture they had taken of the two of them together. It looks like it had been a little while.

I prefer to shoot in natural light when possible, but I always bring my studio lights and umbrellas for when natural light isn’t enough. Thankfully, they had two large windows that I was able to use. I did use one of my studio lights set at its brightest, just to give me a little more boost of light. Sometimes I have to increase my ISO to allow more light in. When you do that, we will see an increase in grain. My D700 handles higher ISO’s a little better than my D90.

{9 Month Session ~ “C”} Terre Haute Indiana Photographer

I’m often asked what my favorite sessions are and that is such a hard question to answer. I love different parts of certain sessions. Even though newborns take a lot of work and patience, I love how tiny they are. I love to capture the love of that the parents and siblings feel towards this new life. I could shoot newborn sessions every day. I also love shooting infants when they are able to sit up. They don’t crawl yet, their personalities are starting to emerge with big smiles and laughs. Then fast forward to the toddler stage, LOVE the energy and them running all over and just enjoying life! I love the older kids and their ability to take direction…I love boosting confidence in preteens. Senior sessions are awesome too. So many directions their lives can take…sigh. <3

Anyway, I said all that to say that I loved this session!! I have actually loved every session that I’ve had with this family. The little one….oooh he’s just so cute!! I also love the oldest one. He is ALL boy! I love his energy. His mom takes pictures….I’ll bet she gets a ton of awesome photographs of him in action. Love it!!

 

{9 Month Session ~ “L”} Avon Indiana Infant Photographer

Scott and Sarah came down from Avon to my house for “L”s 9 month session. He is such a beautiful baby! He’s so shy and he has the bluest eyes! When they came here we had some snow still on the ground so I thought to photograph the little one in some snow. He didn’t care for that too much. We’ve only had one, maybe two snows this winter. Today it feels like spring. I have a feeling that we will get some snow before the winter season is all over.

{1 year Session ~ “C”}

Kim, her mom and sister met up at my house for “C”s 1 year session. The year goes by so fast! I always get a little misty eyed when the year ends.

I love cake smash sessions! You never really know how the little one is going to react to the cake. I’ve seen some tear into it, some barely pick at it and some that shudder at the littlest taste of it. “C” liked it, but he didn’t tear into it.

I’ve included some from his 9 month session since I never did get around to blogging that one.

{Newborn Session~Baby “K”}

I met up with Danyeil and David in the beginning of January to photograph their beautiful little girl! “K was around 12 days old when they came to see me. I could not get over how much hair she had and she slept like a champ!! Really excited with how the images came out!

Session with a purpose

Several months back I posted on my Facebook Fan page a request to find a few people that have either survived cancer or some that were going through it. Out of all the responses I received, only one booked with me. What was my purpose for these sessions? To celebrate life! I’m seeing far too many people losing the ones they love because of this terrible disease.

I was contacted by Holly, one of my families that I photographed, regarding her Aunt that is fighting this battle. I took Kims pictures in the spring of 2011 at Bridgeton. Holly contacted me again to see if I would take some more photos of Kim and her family a couple of weeks ago. Of course, I consider it a complete honor to capture small moments in their lives. I am still lifting you up in prayer Kim. I love you lady!! You are such a warrior. <3
