I’ve done a few hospital newborn shots for my Tiny Blessing families! I completely and totally love it! Last night however was the first time I went just hours after the baby was born. The entire family was there waiting to get their eyes and hands on that little guy.

Jessica’s labor started around 11 p.m Monday night and she went in to the hospital at around 1 a.m. The family waited anxiously all day for Easton to arrive, but we all know how babies are. We got the last update that Jess was at 10cm so I knew that at any minute I would get the call to come…..and I waited….and waited. ha! After about 2 1/2 hours of pushing they made the decision to do a C-section. Well no wonder! Easton is a big boy!! He was born 9 lb 6 oz and 21 1/2 inches long. He has the most biggest hands I have seen on a newborn. I hope my little hats fit him. lol He is definitely going to play football.

{6 Month Session~Blakely/Terre Haute Indiana Infant Photographer}

I love getting together with this family. Little Blakely is such a cutie! It was very blustery and just a wee bit chilly when we met up, so we made this one of the quickest sessions ever.

{9 Month Session ~ “L”} Avon Indiana Infant Photographer

Scott and Sarah came down from Avon to my house for “L”s 9 month session. He is such a beautiful baby! He’s so shy and he has the bluest eyes! When they came here we had some snow still on the ground so I thought to photograph the little one in some snow. He didn’t care for that too much. We’ve only had one, maybe two snows this winter. Today it feels like spring. I have a feeling that we will get some snow before the winter season is all over.

{1 year Session ~ “C”}

Kim, her mom and sister met up at my house for “C”s 1 year session. The year goes by so fast! I always get a little misty eyed when the year ends.

I love cake smash sessions! You never really know how the little one is going to react to the cake. I’ve seen some tear into it, some barely pick at it and some that shudder at the littlest taste of it. “C” liked it, but he didn’t tear into it.

I’ve included some from his 9 month session since I never did get around to blogging that one.

{Maternity} “M” Family

This is my good friend Darla and her family. Tomorrow is birth day for this family…or it will be if “K” cooperates. I just hope that he waits for my session to be done tomorrow night before he makes his big arrival. You see, Darla is letting me document the birth of their son and I so want to be there for his first breath. I can’t think of a better gift than to capture the minutes and moments of labor and delivery.

We took these images in 15 minutes. Indiana had experienced some really high temps. Not as hot as Texas or for as long as Texas…but still, it was hot. On this day it was 115 heat index, definitely not the atmosphere for a pregnant momma. Here are the images that we took.

M & R Session/Terre Haute Children Photographer

I’ve known this family for about 3…almost 4 years. This is the first time I’ve gotten to photograph them. When we scheduled their session, I had certain pictures in mind. A new friend of mine made the tutu’s and the hats. We started off with some pictures of them playing, a little peek -a- boo. Then, we got their little tutu’s and hats and got started capturing what I had envisioned. I simply love how they came out.

9 Month Session~K~/Terre Haute Indiana Infant and Children Photographer

It’s so hard to believe that this is “K”s next to last session. It is always such a pleasure to meet up with great people and wonderful children to take their photos. This always puts a smile on my face.

“K” was awesome on this day despite not feeling too well. When we wrapped up, she had a little fever…but she was a champ! Look at these pics and see if you can tell…I can’t! We got magic on this day. I wanted to get a little more of  a natural look to some of the images as well as some studio shots, so I told Holly that I would use her play area for part of it. They have this amazing sun porch off their T.V. room…I didn’t have to use my studio lights at all. <3

I should also make a little note, parents shouldn’t worry if their baby is a little/ or a lot fussy…I’ve told some that you will be surprised at what I can capture for ya.

“C”~Clinton Indiana Newborn Photographer

This is little “C”…he is SUCH a wonderful little guy. When we met up, he was 6 weeks old. He was born early and on the date that these were taken, his mommy hadn’t even reached her original due date. He is such a strong little guy! It was so great to be able to capture this little cutie.

3 Months “C”/Terre Haute Indiana Infant Photographer

“C” is one of my Tiny Blessing babies. I meet up with the babies and their families for their Newborn, 3, 6, 9 month and 1 year. For each stage in their life, I try to come up with new and unique set-ups with the families. This way their session is a little unique and a little different from session to session.

This time I asked Ashley is I could set up in their large screened in back porch. It has huge windows all the way around it and it provided such wonderful light. Towards the end of the session I did have to bring out one light to give us just a bit more light. 

I am really excited about these pictures. We got some really great shots and “C” even fell asleep during part of the session. I don’t remember ever having that happen…but she got really cozy and just went to sleep. It worked out great!

Maternity & Newborn Session/Indianapolis Maternity and Newborn Photographer

This is two posts in one! Some may remember the “C” family from the last couple of years. “X” is my first ever Tiny Blessings baby. Well, the family welcomed “T” on February 9.

I met with them 2 weeks prior to capture “A” and “X” before the little ones big arrival and to do some maternity photos of Christine. She looked positively radiant during her maternity session….but she looked spectacular the day of the newborn session.

“T” was 2 days old when I went to their home, so that makes him the youngest baby I’ve photographed in a studio setting. I chose to set up the backdrops in front of their big sliding glass doors. I really love natural light, so when it’s available…I leave the studio lights and softboxes in the car.
