{Wedding} Christina & Russell/West Layfayette Indiana Wedding Photographer

I was asked to shoot Christina and Russell’s wedding last year by Russell’s mom Emily. I didn’t get to meet Christina until the day of the wedding. I’ll admit, that always makes me nervous. I usually like to talk with my brides multiple times before the big day. I didn’t need to worry though, Christina and Russell, (the entire family for that matter) were so super laid back and just wonderful. I feel like we got along so wonderfully.

The wedding was held at Our Savior Lutheran Church in West Layfayette, Indiana. This is very near the campus of Purdue. We had such beautiful weather! Then it was off to dinner and dancing. Christina and Russell had the best music playing during dinner…..Michael Buble! As my family knows, he is my favorite, (well, him, Jason Mraz and John Mayer.) It is clear that he is crazy about her, ;^). I loved watching Russell with Christina. He was singing to her during their first dance, actually, I think he did that several times throughout the reception. Here are some of my favorites!

There wasn’t a formal, “you may now kiss your bride”, so I’m glad we were paying attention and watching them closely during this time of the ceremony.

Congratulations Christina and Russell! I wish you many years of happiness and God’s Highest and Best to you both.

{E-Session} Amy & David/Brazil, Indiana Engagement and Wedding Photographer

Welcome back to me! Lol!! Talk about a long absence…geesh. I’ll have to catch up soon. Things have been so busy with sessions and weddings that the blog took a backseat.

Onto this blog post…..

Amy contacted me about shooting her September wedding. I had some earlier things scheduled, but thankfully was able to move some things around and give her that date. I am so glad that it worked out that we could work together. Their wedding is going to be so much fun! I’ve never used a plane in a session, so when we planned to meet up at the airfield in Brazil, I got really excited. After the airfield, we headed to David’s Grandmothers house. Talk about a great place! So many possibilities.

Here are some of my favorites:

Allison & A.J./Terre Haute Indiana Wedding Photographer

January 28, 2011, Allison and A.J. got married at the Faithful Hearts Chapel in Terre Haute. This wedding was particularly meaningful for me because A.J. is my best friends oldest son. His mom and I have been best friends for 16 years. Life has caused us not to be as connected as we once were, different paths and directions, but as soon as I saw her….I could feel that same connection in my heart, you know? I’m trying not to make this a post about her…..but she and I have a lot time invested into each other that it tends to come out. I’m going to work really hard to spend more time with her and her family again.

It was so awesome to be able to capture A.J. and Allison’s love for one another and to watch them exchange their vows as well as to witness them light the family candle with their children.

I pray that A.J. and Allison spend many years together! God Bless your relationship and family.

Happy New Year/Terre Haute Indiana Children and Teen Photographer

Happy 2011 to all my friends and family!

It is my hope that you are all blessed greatly in the coming year. In 2010, I saw an increase in my Tiny Blessing Packages, which is pretty cool! Lots of new babies blessing the world! I got to take part in several weddings, ones on my own and some helping out Sam and Betsy as shooting as their second shooter. I also got to fly over to New Jersey in September to see my bestie, Jen, and her fiance to shoot second at Melissa and John’s wedding on the beach. While there I got to take Jen’s and Chris’s engagement session (although I didn’t know it would be that when we did it). 😛

I’m not planning on changing anything that I’m doing for 2011. I feel that things are good as they are. I would like to see an increase in Seniors in 2011, but I trust God to bring the clients to me. I don’t stress if I don’t have very many of  a certain type of clients. As from the beginning, this business is in God’s hands. He’s really much better as this than me. 🙂

During the down time during the Holidays, I asked (more liked begged), my girls to show off some of their new clothes that they got for Christmas. From this, I made a collage that I bought from MCP Actions. These are print sizes so you make it, get it printed, then frame it! http://www.mcpactions.com/

Thanks to all my wonderful and amazing clients/friends for making 2010 such a wonderful and enjoyable year. Here is to increase in 2011!!!

Jen + Chris=Engaged!/Indianapolis, Indiana Engagment and Wedding Photographer

In September I flew out to New Jersey to help my friend Jen Rinaldi of http://www.jenrinaldiphotography.com/, to second shoot a wedding with her.

Eventually, I’ll show some of my shots from that gorgeous wedding, but today…it’s all about J+C.

I was so excited to see my friend again, but even more excited to finally meet her guy! I knew Chris was a nice guy…but after meeting him, well…he’s even more than just a “nice guy”. He’s so down to earth and was so easy to talk to. Even though I hadn’t ever talked to him in person, we talked as if we had been friends for a long time. He is a great match for my friend. 🙂

On Friday, we drove to the spot she likes to take families for photos. Avon-by-the-Sea is the most beautiful spot. I’m in love with beaches and this was heaven! Usually you can take families all the way to the end of the jetty to do the pictures, but, Hurricane Earl (I think) was turning off the east coast causing the waves to be quite high. We weren’t able to get out that far on the jetty and even the spot where we were…we ended up having to move quickly to avoid getting wet. (This would prove to be a bad spot the next day for the grooms pictures…..yikes!)

After the beach we went to Point Pleasant for more pictures on the boardwalk. I was seriously in Heaven! Terre Haute isn’t “country”, but when I was photographing them, I just felt so far from what I’m used to. I shoot in fields, parks, etc. I could get used to shooting on beaches though. And shooting an engagement session in a carnvial…oh my goodness…that was SO cool!

Ok, I’m trying to be all eloquent and such and I stink at writing so I’ll get on with the pictures. I do want to thank Jen and Chris for letting me take their pictures. I didn’t know then that they would turn into their engagement pictures, so I’m glad that I was there. I love you both!

Justin and Ashley~Wedding Ceremony/Parke County, Indiana Wedding Photographer

Justin and Ashley got married in February 13, 2010, but they still wanted a wedding ceremony that included all their friends and family. Fast forward to November 6, 2010.

They held their fall ceremony at Mansfield, Indiana. If you don’t know, Mansfield is a popular place during the Covered Bridge Festival. We had perfect weather for their day, so we were able to get a lot of great photos!

Let’s get on to my favorite part of blog posts….the pictures! 🙂

Justin and Ashley, thank you for asking me to document your day.

A little toast before we start!

I’ve included a slideshow of a lot more pictures.

Alaina and Brad/Terre Haute Indiana Engagement and Wedding Photographer

Alaina  inquired about wedding packages on December 18, 2009. We met soon after and that Starbucks meeting was the beginning of what I feel is going to be a fantastic relationship. I love it when my brides and grooms become friends with me. I love when nothing is held back. Alaina and Brad is one such couple. Honest and open…full of life and love for each other. They are my kind of people.

We met up on the campus of St. Mary’s of the Woods College early morning. I love early morning light…love it! I believe we walked almost the entire area of that campus, but it was so good and we really had a great time getting to know one another while I photographed them. From there, we went to Fairbanks and got some more awesome shots. After we finished there, we headed to Pumpkin Works outside of Paris, IL. Going to Pumpkin Works was a given, you see, Brad almost lost his thumb while carving the “will you marry me” into a pumpkin. Did I get that right Alaina? lol

Enjoy my MANY favorites. Oh, btw…3 1/2 hours, 3 locations, almost 8 Gs of photos and ended with 123 photos to choose. The hard part is done for me. 😛 Alaina has to pick which pictures to put in her guest book for me to make. lol

This is at the entrance of St. Mary’s. A canvas would be nice of this one. 😉

Love the simple interaction between them.
