Pettiskirts

I got two pettiskirts at Hot Topic when I went to Indianapolis a couple of weekends ago. They did have to have the elastic tightened to fit around “E”‘s waist but she looks so cute in them. I also had won a crocheted hat on e-bay and finally received that on Monday. I was so excited to get some photos of her to show her Grandma J. We set the seamless paper up in my kitchen. For most of the shots I used my 50mm 1.4 lens. I was standing on top of “E”‘s Elmo table to get the shots looking down as I couldn’t get back far enough to get her all in the frame. I finally asked “B” to get my 18-55mm lens and was able to get some shots at her eye level. The lighting consisted of my one main light, window light and a second light on, but not pointed at the paper. I have to find out what’s wrong with that one light. I think the bulb is getting close to burning out, but I’m not sure where to get a replacement bulb.

Pretty in Pink

I ordered my first seamless paper after Christmas and got it yesterday. I love it! I chose to order the pastel pink as I do have a lot of little girls in my life and thought this would make a great choice. I couldn’t wait to get my little one in front of it to see how it looked. I noticed a couple of things: 1) I need to play around with the positioning of my lights and 2) the pink does seem to cast a slight pink hue to the skin. I tried to get rid of that on her, but I think I have to try again on a few of them. I want to get the chestnut brown and a blue seamless paper in the near future.
