{Wedding} Christina & Russell/West Layfayette Indiana Wedding Photographer

I was asked to shoot Christina and Russell’s wedding last year by Russell’s mom Emily. I didn’t get to meet Christina until the day of the wedding. I’ll admit, that always makes me nervous. I usually like to talk with my brides multiple times before the big day. I didn’t need to worry though, Christina and Russell, (the entire family for that matter) were so super laid back and just wonderful. I feel like we got along so wonderfully.

The wedding was held at Our Savior Lutheran Church in West Layfayette, Indiana. This is very near the campus of Purdue. We had such beautiful weather! Then it was off to dinner and dancing. Christina and Russell had the best music playing during dinner…..Michael Buble! As my family knows, he is my favorite, (well, him, Jason Mraz and John Mayer.) It is clear that he is crazy about her, ;^). I loved watching Russell with Christina. He was singing to her during their first dance, actually, I think he did that several times throughout the reception. Here are some of my favorites!

There wasn’t a formal, “you may now kiss your bride”, so I’m glad we were paying attention and watching them closely during this time of the ceremony.

Congratulations Christina and Russell! I wish you many years of happiness and God’s Highest and Best to you both.

{Maternity} “M” Family

This is my good friend Darla and her family. Tomorrow is birth day for this family…or it will be if “K” cooperates. I just hope that he waits for my session to be done tomorrow night before he makes his big arrival. You see, Darla is letting me document the birth of their son and I so want to be there for his first breath. I can’t think of a better gift than to capture the minutes and moments of labor and delivery.

We took these images in 15 minutes. Indiana had experienced some really high temps. Not as hot as Texas or for as long as Texas…but still, it was hot. On this day it was 115 heat index, definitely not the atmosphere for a pregnant momma. Here are the images that we took.

Come back to check out birth day pics later. (If Darla lets me post some of those. lol )

{Family Session} Hayne Family/Terre Haute Indiana Family Photographer

I met this family a couple of years ago when I photographed Mark and Madison’s wedding. Then, I had the pleasure of photographing Taylor’s Senior pictures. So, when I was contacted to shoot the entire family, I was thrilled. This family is the type of family that you would want to hang out with. They are so nice, caring and fun to be around. You really get a sense of what love in the family should be like.

Thanks again for asking me to do this for you!

{Sisters} “S” & “G”/Indianapolis Indiana Children and Family Photographer

I met with Mark, Kerry, “S” and “G” in June on the Canal in Indianapolis. I love going there! There really is a lot of possibilities.

Once again “S” & “G” knew how to pose for the camera. Those girls are such naturals! They have the best eyes! I love photographing them. Here are some of my favorites…..be warned, I have a lot!

Love the softness of her expression in this one.

This one too! I could have shot their images all day. :)

Love this funny face!

A little Vogue action

Thanks for looking!

{6 month session} “I”/Effingham, Ill Baby Photographer

We are half way into little “I”s first year of photos. It always amazes me how much the change from month to month. At his newborn session, he was small…really skinny. Really nothing much to his little self. Now, at 6 month he is chubby and full of smiles! Here are some of the favorites from our session.

{E-Session} Amy & David/Brazil, Indiana Engagement and Wedding Photographer

Welcome back to me! Lol!! Talk about a long absence…geesh. I’ll have to catch up soon. Things have been so busy with sessions and weddings that the blog took a backseat.

Onto this blog post…..

Amy contacted me about shooting her September wedding. I had some earlier things scheduled, but thankfully was able to move some things around and give her that date. I am so glad that it worked out that we could work together. Their wedding is going to be so much fun! I’ve never used a plane in a session, so when we planned to meet up at the airfield in Brazil, I got really excited. After the airfield, we headed to David’s Grandmothers house. Talk about a great place! So many possibilities.

Here are some of my favorites:

M & R Session/Terre Haute Children Photographer

I’ve known this family for about 3…almost 4 years. This is the first time I’ve gotten to photograph them. When we scheduled their session, I had certain pictures in mind. A new friend of mine made the tutu’s and the hats. Her name is Crystal and you can find her on Facebook here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Julie-Lawson-Photography/130867719377#!/pages/Flowerific-Bowtastic/105729519454791

We started off with some pictures of them playing, a little peek -a- boo. Then, we got their little tutu’s and hats and got started capturing what I had envisioned. I simply love how they came out.

The blue headband was created by Jessy’s Props and Creations. You can find her work on Facebook here:http://www.facebook.com/pages/Julie-Lawson-Photography/130867719377#!/JessysCreations.Photoprops

“B” Boys/Clinton and Terre Haute Indiana Children Photographer

I want to start this post with a little…note I guess. :) I’ve seen that almost all the 2 to 2 1/2 year olds that I photograph have a strong aversion to being photographed in the normal, sit down and smile way. When I hear that someone has a 2 year old…I already know that they are going to be full of energy AND that it’s going to be a great session. Parents get a little stressed when they don’t sit down but they really shouldn’t. , we’ll get the family picture that you want. We just need to do something a little different to create the magic that we are after.

We got magic on this day. :) Little “G” is my rockstar…I’m pretty excited by the images we got. ;)

9 Month Session~K~/Terre Haute Indiana Infant and Children Photographer

It’s so hard to believe that this is “K”s next to last session. :( It is always such a pleasure to meet up with great people and wonderful children to take their photos. This always puts a smile on my face.

“K” was awesome on this day despite not feeling too well. When we wrapped up, she had a little fever…but she was a champ! Look at these pics and see if you can tell…I can’t! We got magic on this day. I wanted to get a little more of  a natural look to some of the images as well as some studio shots, so I told Holly that I would use her play area for part of it. They have this amazing sun porch off their T.V. room…I didn’t have to use my studio lights at all. <3

I should also make a little note, parents shouldn’t worry if their baby is a little/ or a lot fussy…I’ve told some that you will be surprised at what I can capture for ya. ;)

Please enjoy my multitude of favorites!

“C”~Clinton Indiana Newborn Photographer

This is little “C”…he is SUCH a wonderful little guy. When we met up, he was 6 weeks old. He was born early and on the date that these were taken, his mommy hadn’t even reached her original due date. He is such a strong little guy! It was so great to be able to capture this little cutie.
